The One series is based on the ensō circle. 'In Zen Buddhism, an ensō is a circle that is hand-drawn in one or two uninhibited brushstrokes to express a moment when the mind is free to let the body create.'  My interpretation here is many ensō circles linked together in harmony, or as in the artwork 'One minus One' harmony in chaos.

Nature's harmonious way of growth in symbiosis - supporting each other for a more enriched life. Such is the way of fungi, many plants and trees. I hope we can continue to learn from nature. Interconnectivity, as seen here in the One series of artworks, is a recurring theme of my artworks.
